and then it kindly opened its wings in full.
I call this our mushroom garden, look carefully can you see two small animals on the top of the 'mushroom'.
This one was closest... Common Wall Lizard...
and this one was on the other side. They will soon be hibernating until spring.
A one off shot at a Small Copper (Lycaena phlaeas)
Small Heath (Coenonympha pamphilus)
Unknown on the coriander which has gone to flower.
Any mistakes in identification please correct me.

ReplyDeleteSorry about the miserable weather. We don't tend to get that, till November. Yes, we get rain and cool. But the nasty stuff, seems to be in November. So, I have a hard time, in Nov. ,-)
There are plenty of butterflies still around :-) We normally do not get that cold in September but it seems the weather is changing!! Have a good week Diane

ReplyDeleteThere are still plenty of butterflies around at the moment Jo, hopefully they will remain a bit longer yet before it is too cold. The rock is actually a tree. It was a large cedar that suddenly died for no apparent reason and we had to have it cut down. The guy who did it turned the stump into a giant mushroom for us. Have a good week Diane

DeleteBeautiful nature images. I know what you mean about the rain. We had a huge rainfall yesterday morning and it will be raining all week. This is after a very soggy Spring (record rainfall), then a very hot summer (record shattering heat) & wildfires burning causing smoke filled skies. Now we suddenly have closer to Winter weather. I miss the days of old when we could more or less count on the seasons. Take care and enjoy your visit to warmer climes (I read on your other blog ;-)
